The vision behind our experience

Van Gogh & Dutch Heritage Tours was born from a simple vision: travel should be meaningful and rooted in history and culture. Instead of rushing between monuments, we focus on connection — with the place, with Dutch history, with the culture, and with the story itself. Our journey offers depth within Dutch society, connecting the historical context of rural life and the religion that shaped Vincent van Gogh with the art he left behind.

The Storyteller Who Connects Art and History

Our guide is more than a driver; he is a storyteller who lives the world of Vincent van Gogh and the Netherlands in general. By connecting the historical context of Dutch rural life and religious culture with the artist's perspectives, we bring the art to life. We tell the stories behind the artworks, so that you truly understand Dutch history and the culture that shaped his art.

The founder is highly experienced and studied 19th-century art in the Netherlands (University of Groningen) as well as four years in the United States (under the guidance of renowned art historians such as Prof. Al Boime (UCLA) and Prof. Gabe Weisberg (University of Minnesota). He is an expert on Dutch culture and speaks fluent Dutch, English, and French. In addition to the history of Van Gogh and the Netherlands, we can also discuss themes such as sports and technology, if needed/wanted. It will be a wonderful experience and provide an impression of the Netherlands that is less well known.

"Van Gogh has been an inspiration for me for a long time."

The founder spent much time in museums worldwide at a young age studying Van Goghs work.
